A historical vegetable garden, a new perfume and lots & lots of tomatoes. We're delighted to welcome you to THE TOMATO FEAST.
Imagine a long summer table in the middle of a historical estate vegetable garden.
The scent of tomato plants drifts through the air. Plates are piled high with the juiciest tomatoes from the field. Glasses are refilled, platters are passed and people you've never met before become friends over food, fragrance and curious conversations.
We'll spend the afternoon falling a little deeper down the tomato rabbit hole than most people ever do. Smelling, tasting and talking about the secret and strange ways tomato plants communicate with the world around them. A perfumer and a chef will take you along a journey of the tomato plant and how Lingua Planta's new perfume - TOMATO LEAF - came to life.
There will be a feast, a new perfume and a lot of tomatoes. We're delighted to welcome you!
The afternoon includes:
Seasonal four-course vegetarian feast
Prepared by Tessa Brandsma, centred around tomatoes grown at Tuinderij Eyckenstein and thoughtfully paired with a selection of organic alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
Storytelling and conversation
With the farmers of Tuinderij Eyckenstein and culinary anthropologist Tessa Brandsma who brings farmers and craftspeople to the table to explore the connection between your food and the makers of your food.
Tomato Leaf 10ml bottle
An introduction to the fascinating scent world of the tomato plant and the story behind Tomato Leaf by Lingua Planta founder and perfumer Merle Bergers. You'll take a bottle of Tomato Leaf with you.
