Mysterious, smoky and soothing

This perfume is powerful and smoky, where the odor of a smoldering forest fire is slowly wrapped in the soothing energy of Cedarwood and Frankincense. The warm fumes of resinous materials and Ambrette seeds are known to be calming on human beings, the Vetiver and Oakmoss help us to ground. We mortals have tried to access the Divine throughout the ages per fumum – through smoke. It is the oldest form of perfume that inspired Henosis.

Made for solace in a time

of ecological grief

As drought and heat continue to boost the increase of wildfires across our planet, it’s natural to feel overwhelmed by a sense of grief for the loss of nature. During the bushfires in Australia in 2020, team Lingua Planta experienced that acts of symbolism can bring great comfort and solace in a time of many transformations. This is where Henosis was born. A scent where the warming fumes have actually a calming effect on our bodies and mind. Ancient rituals of smoke for modern times that help us reconnect with our inner and outer eco-systems.

Scent and ritual

3,700 years ago, priests believed that the smoke of incense was the only thing which could cross the barrier between earth and heaven. Leading to the original name for perfume: per fumum, or ‘through smoke'. Henosis is a perfume based on the age old relationship we have with scent and ritual.

The Henosis Practice

sitting with smoke

Sit down comfortably and find a source of smoke, such as a candle or incense, and light it mindfully in front of you. Focus your gaze on the smoke as it rises and dances in the air. Notice the movement, the shapes and the colors of the smoke, allowing yourself to fully experience its beauty and magic.

Take another deep breath and allow the energy of the smoke and the scent of Henosis to nourish and sooth you from the inside out. Sit with this feeling for as long as you like, breathing in the scent of the perfume and feeling the warmth and energy of the smoke surrounding you.

When you’re feeling settled down, apply Henosis to your pulse points. Take a deep breath in and allow the scent to transport you deeper into the experience. Allow yourself to feel grounded and supported by the earth, and visualize the smoke carrying away any stress, tension or heaviness from your body and mind.
